AS400 Programmer


Leading consumer goods company located in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY is seeking a results oriented AS400 programmer to join our highly successful team! The passion, Energy and Commitment of our Team members define our company. This exciting position reports directly to the IT Director.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the analysis, programming, upgrades, interfaces, and modifications of all AS/400 applications to optimize the company's technical operations
2. Evaluates and writes complex programs, queries and reports based on user input using CL, RPG, ILE, CGI, HTML and SQL
3. EDI mapping and programming experience preferred. Analyze, design, develop and implement EDI processes and changes to new and existing EDI customers.
4. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PC software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc) issues as plus.
5. Computer and printer hardware troubleshooting ability a plus.
Qualifications:
1. 1-3 years AS400 RPG programming experience
2. Experience responding to support calls in a highly visible environment.
3. Good verbal and written communications skills.
4. Sound understanding of standard business processes.
5. EDI experience a plus.
6. Ability to demonstrate drive, persistence and personal ownership of assignments
7. Ability to make decisions and demonstrate problem solving skills, analysis, prioritization and risk taking
8. Ability to communicate to users at all organizational levels.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
