Opus Scientific has a great opportunity for a Microbiology Supervisor at a well established, full service clinical laboratory.
Responsibilities include:
Create schedules and manage payroll.
Oversee performance of instrument maintenance.
Maintain inventory of reagents and consumables.
Perform competency assessment and annual performance evaluations for subordinates
Perform testing in department when necessary.
Review all QA/QC documentation for the department as well as all clinical patient test results for microbiology.
Author and review standard operating procedures.
Responsible for oversight of proficiency testing and other quality processes within the laboratory.
Oversee reporting to Dept. of Health.
Ensure operation of laboratory within both NYS and CAP accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or related field (Master's degree preferred)
NYS Medical Technologist License
Knowledge of all of the aspects of testing performed in the Microbiology Laboratory.
Able to coordinate and oversee daily operations within the Microbiology Laboratory.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
