Opus Scientific has various opportunities requiring specialized scientific talent. We currently have strong opportunity to work closely with Medical Director in progressive research and development department of leading bioscience company.
Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and validating high complexity clinical laboratory tests.
Work with the Medical Director, the VP of Sales, and the Technical Director to develop and implement programs to offer new high value laboratory tests
Assess the clinical utility, technical feasibility, marketability, and potential profitability of new tests
Devise and implement appropriate proficiency testing as per CLIA and NY State DOH guidelines
Develop detailed programs for the development and validation of new tests
Work with the Technical Director to identify and allocate resources necessary for the development of new tests
Provide onsite directorship for next generation sequencing clinical diagnostic services
Collaborate to produce validation documents and procedure manuals
Develop measures to monitor and improve the development and validation process
Work directly with the Medical Director, to define new areas of growth consistent with the company's business model
Participate in departmental management activities
Take a leadership role in departmental educational activities
Actively participate in external professional activities including publishing, educational presentations, and panel discussions
Regularly interact with clients to improve customer satisfaction as part of the sales, account relations and business development processes; assess future needs of clients
Be involved as needed with budget planning and control
Provide clinical expertise where appropriate consistent with training, licensure and certification
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in the life sciences
Minimum of 3
years of post-doctoral experience developing clinical laboratory tests
Experience in a corporate setting a plus
Possess a broad knowledge of clinical laboratory tests, as well as instrumentation and platforms, especially in areas of molecular diagnostics
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to development and use of LDT's, as well as, New York State Department of Health
Salary
