6 Melville, NY Melville, NY $65,000 - $75,000 a year $65,000 - $75,000 a year Do you have in depth experience working in a busy retail Bakery as a Manager? We, at Uncle Giuseppe's have a great opportunity working as a Bakery Bench Manager for our Long Island stores.
This position is located in Melville, however will have responsibility for all of our Long Island store bakeries.
Working together with each store Bakery Manager, our Bakery Bench Manager is responsible for the overall operations of our Bakery Departments.
An incentive bonus of up to 15% is offered with this position Responsibilities Ensuring that the bakery is adequately stocked with quality baking ingredients and supplies Ensuring that baking tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized Creating suitable work schedules for staff members Appraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performance Training staff to produce high-quality bakery items while following proper food handling procedures Following department plan and merchandising to correctly place and market bakery items in display cases Inspecting bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are met Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner Other duties and functions as assigned.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Associate's degree in culinary arts or baking and pastry arts is preferred Must have thorough understanding and in depth baking skills for cakes, pastries, specialty items and all baked goods within a bakery Proven experience managing a bakery or similar industry.
Must have an active and unexpired food handler's license Sound knowledge of different baking techniques.
The ability to work under pressure.

Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard.
There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
Pay:
$65,000.
