Under the guidance of the Director of the Quality Department, the Quality Data Analyst will provide data analytical support to all strategic initiatives addressed by the Quality Assurance Department.
Responsibilities:
Understanding, designing and implementing data collection methodologies; Developing analysis and reporting capabilities; Continuously monitoring and reporting performance and quality control results; Interpreting analytical outcomes from the data (including trends and variances) to support the quality improvement decision making process.
Identifying opportunities to integrate data from existing and new clinical/information systems The incumbent must exhibit strong analytical and critical thinking skills, demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness, and possess strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others.
Additionally the incumbent must be proficient in mathematical concepts and software programs that support data collection and reporting.
(Excel, Access, etc) Responsible for the analysis and review of data acquired from diverse medical record systems, clinical information systems and other sources.
Participates in business intelligence activities:
querying, reporting, and working with metrics to measure past performance and guide planning and provide resulting recommendations.
Ensures integrity of data and the data process.
This includes:
investigation and knowledge of data sources and the data process workflow; recommending data collection processes/workflows that support the efficiency and effectiveness of data that is collected; and auditing results to ensure data validity and reliability.
Provides support and training on reporting and related topics, where assigned.
Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
Works extensively with the clinical quality team and other project team members to identify, analyze and recommend solutions related to collection and reporting of performance improvement data to streamline processes and improve data integrity.
Contributes to the decision making process by identifying, analyzing and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Performs modeling of quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Service as a subject matter expert as it relates to recommended data sources, sample sizes, benchmarks, data collection methodologies, trend analysis, interpretation of data specification manuals, and other data validity/reliability functions.
Works as liaison between IT and clinical disciplines to ensure accurate communication about requested information and that the most effective and efficient data collection efforts are achieved.
Prepares reports, graphical representation and data analysis summaries as requested.
Participates in continuing education programs to enhance job knowledge as needed.
Completes other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Department Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management or Business Administration.
Advanced degree (MA, MBA, etc.
) preferred.
Mathematical Degree a plus.
Clinical degree and/or experience working in a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
Proficient skills in all phases of data processing and analysis.
Ability to use critical thinking and apply sound judgment and assessment for decision making.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Use of statistical applications a plus Understanding of statistical techniques and methodologies Strong data representation skills - appropriate graphical representation, use of tables, and other report formats Thorough knowledge of how to create a variety of chart types (Bar, Run, Control, Scatter, Pie, etc.
) Understands the appropriate application for each chart Ability to learn and become proficient in a variety of vendor software programs with minimal instruction Strong attention to detail.
Ability to perform requested tasks with minimal direction.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
